MABBA 2016 - FALL CLASSIC

FYI - I am so thankful, this was a post I could not keep short and I hope you all understand!

SO? HOW DID EVERYTHING GO?

I absolutely fell in love with the whole journey! It was an amazing experience and what I enjoyed the most was to be able to meet such beautiful people who shared their challenges/struggles in life, to not only work so hard on improving their physique but to help create themselves to become better as an individual. I was looking for a challenge and yes, it definitely was a challenge but through it all.. I had amazing coaches @fullblownfitness that never gave up on me, they believed in me and challenged me even more to take it to the next step.. Compete! “Sure why not, let’s do it! “

Gym, Dieting and literally cutting all the unnecessary negative things out of my life was what it had to be..

What were the outcomes?

I was disciplined, I searched for better things to do for myself that helped me grow as an individual instead of wasting my time worrying about things that never really mattered to begin with. An eye opener I tell you!
I can honestly say I now know who my true friends are and I tell them every single time how much I love them because they supported me through everything and even on a tiny competition like this because in the end, it meant so much to me – Everyone has a busy life, it's understandable when things get in the way so I appreciate my friends squeezing some time to see me.

Huge shout out to my close friends, my team from work, second family and most of all my mom.

I hope you all understand that me and my mom don’t really have a great relationship, we just don’t get along and I’m sure some people can relate but during the peak week was when I really noticed who was really there for me. I isolated myself from everyone because I was in such a bad mood, I didn’t want them to feel that negativity (I am usually a really positive person) and of course my mom had to witness that but she stuck through it with me by continuously helping me out with my diet and making sure that I always had food on my table. I could not express how I thankful I am for her because without her, It wouldn’t have been this easy through this journey. Btw we still bump heads but you get the idea. I love her :P

I decided to invite her to my competition

On the day of the competition, I had makeup done by this amazing makeup artist Jessica Maquimot and my hair done by my beautiful friend Holly Hui. Thank you both of you for waking up so early (6am) to get me show time ready, I felt a million dollars! 845am, I had my second spray tan done (Thank you Amanda Woods) I got many compliments about my spray tan, how it was blended nicely with my skin – I didn’t feel like the look was blotchy at all yet it was very different, I was on a new level of skin tone haha!

I put on my beautiful suit that was made by Gloria Sawatzky from Quarter Turns and by the way money well spent! This suit was made for me! (I actually plan on framing it) It was so beautiful, I heard many of the backstage volunteers tell me “your suit is my favorite” or “gosh, Gloria knows!” If anyone ever plans on competing, go see Gloria! She is an amazing individual who is so kind hearted, it’s not only her creative creations but her amazing self that gets to you. Thank you Gloria!
BACK STAGE

I shared a room with my team mates. I’m thankful to share this experience with you girls Hien Nguyen and Bev Villagarcia! You girls are amazing, when it came to meeting up for posing practices, tips, tricks and treats – You two are my real trophies in this competition and I’m glad we all got to do this together. To all the other competitors that I got to share this experience with. You all are so amazing, I hope you girls are proud of how far you came and to be able to show your loved ones of how beautiful you all look. Great job! You did it! You made it! And we did it!

Stage time (Class D – Number 72 was your girl)

Of course I was nervous! My heart was beating like crazy! As I stepped out on stage, smile and do my poses, I can hear my support system scream out “LINDA!!!” “72!!!!!!” “WOOHH”

I wanted to laugh so much! I was having way too much fun with this competition
I placed 4th in my Class D with 78 Competitors in Bikini

As I stepped out to meet up with my friends and of course my mom, still there was cheering going on, picture after picture. My friends were all so proud of me and my mom couldn’t stop smiling telling me “You so good! how did you know how to do this? (I’m not
even a pro) you so pretty (fob accent) wow” Times like this, I can cry but obviously you can’t because of the spray tan but I will always remember this amazing moment.

Did I expect to place? No.
Did I expect to win first place? No
What was my expectation out of this?

To learn and experience.

So what have I learned?

The competition wasn’t against anyone but yourself. Mentally and physically! I learn to have different goals whether it was just for my career or personal life. The key to all this is to learn how to be happy and maintain that good healthy life style – BALANCE is what it’s called, Now I’m not telling you all to restrict yourself from junk foods, I’m saying don’t be so hard on yourself! I went from being nearly 150lbs down to 120 within 15 weeks, anything is possible! LOL LIVE YOUR LIFE! You can change your body to how ever size you want, but what's important is to find that happiness inside.

It's absolutly amazing of how strong this body building community is and if there is anyone who is considering on giving this a shot.. I say GO FOR IT! most definitely yes! try it out because you never know what the outcomes are! The only advice I would suggest is to really just stick through the whole plan to the very end! you will see good results! Remember your body is beautiful no matter what shape or size it is! and have fun no matter what!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in MABBA 2016, All that hard work and dedication really pays off!

so what’s next?

Obviously to search more for more challenges and to open more doors for myself. I can’t wait to see all the new changes I bring on to the end of this coming year and obviously to the new.

 Celebrate everything and anything.
